With reference to your letter of the 9th instant, 54147/48, the package containing the gold trowel addressed to the Colonial Secretary, Hong Kong, was handed by our representative to the Purser on board the "CA TUN" at Southampton on Friday last, the 9th instant.

I understand that you are instructing the Government Department concerned to send a responsible official to the ship on arrival with a letter of authority to collect the package.

The insurance has been effected in accordance with your instructions for the sum of £100. Our Underwriting Agents have obtained a Policy against all risks at a premium of £1.3s. and pending ny instructions to the contrary, the Policy will be retained by them until the risk is over or a claim made.

I shall be obliged if you will kindly arrange for the above mentioned premium viz: £1.3s. to be paid to this Office in due course.
